In Cloud Connection, Innobyte.swiss

From 21 to 23 March 2017, the first alpine tourism hackathon was held at the Rondo Convention and Cultural Center in Pontresina. The regional development of the canton of Grisons has implemented this successful event together with numerous service providers.

Ten start-up companies from all over the world were looking for new ideas and prototypes for the Engadin St. Moritz region. Even in winter tourism, innovations should come via digitization. Within less than 48 hours, the ten start-ups, together with tourism experts from the region, developed ideas for the future in the fields of gamification & new media, data analytics and chatbots. In addition to virtual reality skiing, database warehousing solutions, concierge messengers and other amazing chatbots, the techies showed their ideas and developments in three exciting hours on the third final day.

We are proud to have been invited by the Canton to join Cloud Connection as a jury member for this fantastic event. With over 30 years of experience in the digitization of tourism processes and numerous other business projects, we have not let it take us, the cracks to look exactly at the code.

Whether and how the winning ideas will be further developed and implemented will be seen in the future. One thing is for sure, the Cloud Connection will continue to support the canton so that these ideas can soon become measurably lucrative tourism projects!
